WHAT THE GROUP DOES
The Domestic Quarantine and Market Access Working Group ensures that the development of domestic market access conditions for plants and plant products in Australia are:
- technically justified to minimise regulatory burdens on industry
- coordinated and harmonised (aligned and compatible), where possible, across the country and regions, and
- consistent with Australia's international import and export market access conditions and policies.
HOW TO ENGAGE THE GROUP
Members of Australia's plant industries are welcome to engage the Domestic Quarantine and Market Access Working Group. Members can do this either as individuals or as a group.
There is no charge to industry for engaging the working group.

Electronic Certification for Domestic Markets
Victoria has completed a small scale trial of electronic certification for domestic market access, and is currently developing a proposal to seek national cost sharing for a large scale second phase that will provide a system to generate and transmit the phytosanitary certification needed for domestic markets with restrictions.
Mango Trials with South Australia and Victoria
In reviewing and assessing the need for pre harvest treatments for Queensland fruit fly on specific mango cultivars and potential changes to market access conditions, the NT industry has undertaken mango trials with the SA and Vic. DQMAWG members agreed to extend the trials for an additional year to gain further data, during which time Qld industry will also become involved in the trials.
Interstate Market Access Negotiation Process
DQMAWG is currently documenting the process for developing a new plant quarantine entry condition. Once this process is completed, the document will be available on the website.
